History of Shri Gujarati Samaj Indore
Shri Gujarati Samaj Indore is a dedicated educational institution having a large educational Complex of central India, It was established by professional and persuasive Gujaratis in 1923and started at the Jail Road with nominal 7 students on the enrolment.
The contribution and donation of Late Shri Manilal Baldevdas enabled this institution to start primary and secondary school during 1925 and 1932 respectively. Noted philanthropies Shri Manilal Parikh and his associates collected Rs 1,80,000 /- from various individuals and one man donation of Rs 35,000 /- by himself, this enabled these schools to get into size.
As a result of such combined efforts R.R.M.B. High school came into existence in 1946 and it was recognized as higher secondary school in 1948. Visit of Shree Vallabhbhai patel in 1948 imbibed in local Gujaratis to work with full enthusiasm and for the benefit of total community in 1952. One Inter College for Science and Commerce subjects was also established with the donation of late Shri Manilal. A special facility was provided for working men by introducing evening classes in 1956. This inter college was upgrade to degree college in 1958. With the donation of Smt. Chanchalben Manilal Parikh, C.M.P. Primary school was establilshed. Patel and Shri Kashibhai Patel in 1963, philanthropic shri Govardhandas Patel in memory of his father constructed Ghelabhai Nathabhai Bal mandir at Maharani Road Indore.
The P.M.B. College was bifurcated into science, Commerce, Arts and Law College in 1970 post Graduate course in Arts and Science were started in 1974. M.K.H.S Girls Degree College owes its credit of being first Girls Commerce College in state was established in 1982. In 1983 and 1986, P.G. Classes were started in Home Science and Commerce respectively with donation from Matushri Kankuben Hirachand Sanghvi.
Shri Gujarati Samaj realized the need for employment oriented modern education and established Career, Management and Women Vocational Training Center in 1988 and 1989. Gujarati Scienc College was the first science college to start Microbiology, Electronics and computer science classes at Graduation level. This college in now teaching Biotechnology & information technology. The Samaj also provides fully equipped Gymnasium facility behind the Gujarati Science and Commerce College .It is spread in 5 Acres of land provides all sports amenities.
The Samaj has also created a very big multipurpose educational complex in Scheme No. 54 or the main A.B.Road which is situated on a land of 12 Acres. The generous donation form Late Mukesh Ajmera Parmarthic Trust enabled to establish A.M.N. School in this complex. It was establisheed 1992 having affiliation with CBSE and is known as on of the leading institutions at Indore and in Central India.
Subsequent to the Traditional education the Samaj has also gone for Professional and Employment Education. In 1999 a Homeopathic Medical College and Research center was established. Another institute of professional studies was established in 2001.
The institute imparts education of M.C.A., M.B.A., B.C.A. these are also located in the multipurpose education complex one of the prime location of the educational sector of the city in Scheme No. 54.
The Gujarati Samaj has entered into all households of Indore city. This is provided with the fact that every 7th student of the University if from Gujarati colleges. Presently the Samaj is running college and school with an enrolment of above 18,000 students In this educational movement about 800 teachers and other Employees area actively engaged.
